Great news re mental health. So critical for our students

27:15
Mental health services--yay! Filling a long-felt need.

32:56
Hey folks, I wanted to additionally share that therapy services are also available remotely specifically for SCC students through end of Fall when a student goes through https://scc.losrios.edu/campus-life/health-and-safety/student-health-and-wellness-services/therapy-for-scc-students

34:34
Thanks Tanya! always good to have more more more!

45:34
Love that feature!

46:29
This will be a very helpful tool to offer our students.

47:15
Yes, I agree this is a good tool for employees and students.

47:45
Yes! Tell all your friends! š

50:02
This new exposure definition makes a lot more sense

58:56
Cuz you're #1 !

59:59
Microsoft has a lot of problems with numbered lists so I use bullet points unless sequential numbers are essential

01:01:49
Awesome Wendy!!!

01:01:51
Why don't exempt students have to test before the 1st week, given the high rate of community transmission right now?

01:01:56
Will masks still be provided for students?

01:02:08
The FDA recently updated their recommendations to perform multiple tests to ensure accurate results from antigen tests ā will Los Rios be providing additional tests to follow the new FDA recommendations or just one test as currently advertised?

01:02:12
If a students isnāt cleared will it say ānot cleared" or will it be left blank? I have a few students on my rosters that have no information in the clearance column.

01:02:33
The CDC currently states no need to COVID test unless your having symptoms so WHY is los Rios still having religious & medical exempt employees still test????

01:02:40
How fast will a students status be updated after entering a test?

01:03:26
Does anyone have the "event code" handy? I must have missed it.

01:03:27
Same question as @Christina

01:03:39
@Richard it takes PeopleSoft up to 24 hours to update from time of test results entered.

01:04:06
The system updates at midnight every night

01:04:23
What to do about students and employees who come in with respiratory symptoms because they donāt want to miss class or work? This is a long standing pre Covid issue on our campuses. Iāve caught a lot of horrible bugs over the years because of this behavior

01:05:12
Did you say that there was a non-interactive flow chart we could consult to figure out appropriate actions? I need to see a graphical overview to help me see the options. Thanks.

01:05:32
For the student services side, will there be something in the appointment system to reflect that the student is exempt versus the student not submitting their status?

01:06:07
https://employees.losrios.edu/shared/doc/covid/covid-exposure-or-positive-result-response-decision-chart.pdf

01:06:44
Thank you

01:06:46
I am reluctant to ask but: Do we think students will clear themselves (or mark as positive to not have to come to class/do homework, etc.) without really testing.

01:07:09
Patricia. Yes.

01:07:45
Thank you all for the feedback, very helpful!

01:07:53
Check the dates on the masks that were left over in class. They have OSHA recognized expiration dates.

01:10:47
To answer the question about masks being provided, go to your campus operations site and request PPE supplies.

01:10:50
I had a student dropped for that reason who assumed I could just send him a permission number. I had to give him the bad news.

01:11:14
https://employees.crc.losrios.edu/request-ppe-supplies/request-ppe-supplies/request-ppe-supplies

01:11:19
@Patricia, Unfortunately, yes this is a reality of self-attestation. It is on the honor system. We hope everyone will hold to the highest integrity and do the right thing.

01:13:45
Excellent info, thanks to all of the presenters and people who are asking the great questions!

01:13:52
A few students aren't marked as Cleared or Not Cleared, but weren't dropped on the 9th. Are those just the students with exemptions? If so, why aren't they marked as Cleared?

01:14:02
Does that mean all must test Saturdays?

01:14:29
SCC PPE Supply Formhttps://inside.scc.losrios.edu/request-ppe-supplies/request-ppe-supplies/request-ppe-supplies

01:15:24
Can someone remind me where we find out where the students are cleared?

01:15:29
Thanks in advance?

01:15:41
Thank you for this Flex activity.

01:16:02
On your rosters, there is a vaccination clearance tab on the far right.

01:16:53
Two Deans that I work with have suggested NOT to confront students who are not cleared and come to class. One Dean suggests giving them a note to inform them they need to take care of their status or they can not attend future classes. Another Dean suggested informing her so she could contact them. There appears to be some inconsistency in the messaging on this.

01:17:09
Is that testing for EVERYONE or just unvaccinated?

01:17:38
If students have a blank on the roster under "vaccination clearance", do we allow them in class or not?

01:18:17
Good question Laura, I don't like being in the position of vaccination police!

01:19:18
Good question!

01:19:59
Is Los Rios or individual schools providing antigen test kits for all students, even those that are not on the exemption vaccination list.

01:20:30
For student services, are we following the same protocol regarding in person counseling appointments?

01:20:36
It looks like we need clarification for day 1 of class. My understanding is that we may have uncleared students the first week because results aren't due until 8/27 (for exempt students). After the 27th, all should remain in a cleared status to continue coming to class. Correct?

01:20:43
Are vaccinated people able to shed the virus? And if so, how is it equitable that only the unvaccinated are required to be tested?

01:21:02
Thank you.

01:21:26
In eservices, I notice that boosters were not asked to be noted for vaccine status. Shouldnāt we notify eservices for all our boosters?

01:21:40
Yes, I was wondering what Tamyra said a well!

01:22:59
Thank you

01:24:25
8/27 is first day requiring test ...on going...so test Thursday 8/25 and every Thursday ongoing? or every Saturday or does it matter if once per week any day of the week?

01:24:42
Will there be a notation for exemptions?

01:24:57
It never says "uncleared". It is either cleared or blank.

01:25:30
Are vaccinated people able to shed the virus, even when asymptomatic?

01:27:08
I'm wondering if people with exemptions don't show up as Cleared, which is difficult for us to keep track of and too personal to ask about.

01:27:40
boguskim -district currently only requiring the initial two doses.

01:28:13
An exemption means "cleared" just as vaccinated means "cleared," right?

01:29:49
That does not make sense - CLEARED OR UNCLEARED.... versus VACCINATED vs UNVACCINATED - If they self attest they are COVID POSITIVE and then get dropped...but are Vaccinated?

01:30:08
"You'd have to ask CDC that" ⦠CDC's new guidelines are that asymptomatic people should not be testing...https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/71/wr/mm7133e1.htm?s_cid=mm7133e1_w

01:30:14
Thank you.

01:31:22
where can we send students to get a free covid test to see if they're positive?

01:31:28
If we have an exempt student schedule an in person appointment, will the student need to test before the appointment?

01:31:35
Wait: I think I heard something different. All, vaccinated or not, need to test weekly?

01:31:51
Unless they have an exemption.

01:32:14
New variants affect EVERYONE

01:32:18
Only unvaccinated need to show proof of negative testing each week to come on campus

01:32:33
Thanks for the confirmation.

01:33:14
where do students pick up a covid test?

01:33:36
My question is in chat. I don't have a mic

01:33:50
@Elizabeth at ARC you can pick up the tests in the Student Health and Wellness Center

01:34:33
thx!

01:34:36
Wendy - Proof of Negative ā¦. or just saying they are negative?

01:36:02
Delta isnāt the one that is spreading now, itās omicron

01:36:08
Thank you Dr. Iser for your support and information! And thank you Chris for the clarification

01:37:02
if a student was exposed, but does not have symptoms, do they STAY HOME or COME TO CLASS (and wear a mask for 10 days?)

01:37:09
Elizabeth Sprecker-students can pick up covid antigen tests at any campus Student Health and Wellness Centers

01:37:40
@Elizabeth they stated earlier that they can come to class and will need to wear a mask

01:38:05
thanks! so much info... it's a lot!

01:38:37
I'm trying to parse it down for my students/course canvas page

01:39:35
This event isn't in ARC FLEX. I'm emailing Christina right now.

01:39:42
The reminders should be delivered by the district. If multiple instructors email, there will likely be confusion

01:39:51
Even students who are attending other CCCs who are following the CDC guidance and not the CDPH guidanceā¦itāll be confusing

01:40:08
Such as college of the canyons https://www.canyons.edu/administration/pio/notices/index.php

01:40:33
@ John Bell-It has been submitted and approved so I will check with her

01:41:09
Los Rios continues to suspend the daily auto-drop process for non-payment of enrollment fees. There was a drop on August 8 for fall 2022 classes, which included students who had not paid enrollment fees and students who had enrolled in in-person classes and were non-compliant with the Los Rios COVID vaccine requirement. And, there will be an additional drop for vaccine requirement non-compliance the night of August 18.

01:41:45
I would tell students to check their emails (including Spam). A lot of them receive information but miss it because they're not checking.

01:42:12
Thank you so much for this flex activity.

01:42:13
Thank you!

01:42:20
Thanks, Pam!

01:42:20
Thank you!

01:42:23
